Job Summary

Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other health care providers for a designated group of patients on a trauma medical-surgical unit; roles include care for trauma patients admitted from ED, ICU transfers, or surgical/procedural admissions. The unit is fast-paced (45-bed med-surg) with focus on acute and chronic needs of hemodynamically and medically stable patients. Shifts include Full Time & Part Time Nights. Requires BSN (unless approved exceptions), Nebraska or compact-state RN licensure, BLS, PALS (department dependent), ACLS within 6 months (department dependent), TNCC or ATCN within one year (department dependent). Preferred qualifications include direct patient care experience across various areas (cardiology, critical care, ED, telemetry, etc.), MSN preferred, and proficiency with common office and clinical systems. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required unless Exception A or B*
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or compact state license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
  • PALS certification department dependent (required)
  • ACLS certification department dependent (required)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) OR Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) within one year
  • Ability to communicate effectively; teamwork and flexibility
