Job Summary
Assess biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental needs of adult and geriatric telemetry patients, prioritizing treatment and documenting subtle assessment changes. Initiate individualized plans of care using nursing diagnoses, ensuring effective discharge planning and patient/family education while communicating pertinent information to the interdisciplinary health care team. Anticipate potential changes in patient conditions, evaluate nursing care effectiveness, and collaborate with staff to revise treatment plans as needed. Independently provide patient care using the nursing process, offer support to less experienced staff, and actively participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of Maryland or compact state
- Associates degree in Nursing required
- Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- Oncology/Thoracic-Chemotherapy certification
- Base Station certification
- C-EFM certification
- Ability to handle a physically demanding environment
- Ability to handle lifting up to 100 pounds on an infrequent basis
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds while walking
- Ability to push or pull up to 115 pounds infrequently or greater than 115 pounds occasionally
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the Neonate age group
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the Infant age group
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the Child age group
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the Adolescent age group
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the Adult age group
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the Geriatric age group
- Ability to keep patient and employee information confidential
- Ability to meet the requirements annually of the FH Clinical Ladder
- Full time night shift (3) 12hr shifts, 7p-7:30a with weekend and holiday rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment
