RN - 3N Cardiology (Full Time, Nights), St.Vincent

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals on the 3 North Cardiology Unit, managing post-op day 2-3 open hearts, heart catheterizations, pacers, and Watchman procedures. Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels, while acting as charge nurse to assign duties and lunches. Provide leadership through role modeling, mentoring, and delivering verbal and written feedback to peers. Participate in interdisciplinary teams for clinical care evaluation, promote patient safety initiatives, and derive culturally appropriate outcomes. Utilize the nursing process to assess patient reports, document interventions, and notify physicians of condition changes. Maintain a safe environment by considering patient complexity and outcome predictability, while continuously evaluating satisfaction and resolving family concerns.
