Job Summary
Electrical Designer will design, develop, and test the electrical systems related to ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting) firetrucks. The designer turns ideas for products into functional prototypes and production, supports advanced engineering designs, production designs, and issue evaluation/resolution using engineering tools, and works cross-functionally with sub-system engineers, purchasing, production, service, and the sales team. Responsibilities include maintenance, updating, and creation of electrical schematics and BOM for ARFF vehicles and systems; providing technical information, procedures, and programming support to ARFF technicians; assisting production with technical information, troubleshooting, and training; analyzing design, production, and field issues to successful resolution; and performing other duties as required. Requires ability to read and interpret technical procedures, write reports, present information to managers/customers, and follow directions; proficiency with Excel and CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, Windchill); and willingness to travel as needed to support business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in electrical design or drafting preferred
- 2 years of programming, loading, and testing software configurations preferred
- Vehicle electrical system experience preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical theory preferred
- Previous experience with all facets of heavy vehicle construction and operation preferred
- Bill of Material and CAD System experience preferred
- Experience with schematic design / AutoCAD / Windchill / CREO preferred
