Job Summary
Bolts the chassis frame together while monitoring torque, installs equipment including fuel tanks, air tanks, axels, and cab latches per specifications, and ensures the frame is square. Installs brake lines, wire harnesses, plumbing, and air lines, assembles the engine, and manages electrical equipment with proper cable routing. Uses hand tools, power tools, grinders, and tape measures to read blueprints and follow technical directions. Requires high school diploma, strong mechanical ability, and manufacturing experience. Works evenings and weekends occasionally with overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Strong mechanical and technical ability
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books
- Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately
- Able to follow written and verbal directions
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot
- Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed
- Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
- Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all
- Driving license
- Own Vehicle
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally
- Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department
- Local travel
