RMA Test Technician

Job Summary
Perform product testing activities in accordance with production work instructions, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and manufacturing standards. Troubleshoot test failures, perform debugging and minor rework, and support failure analysis to identify root causes and minimize production downtime. Operate, maintain, and calibrate test equipment and fixtures while ensuring workstations comply with 5S and equipment maintenance requirements. Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation to support testing, troubleshooting, and equipment setup. Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency and product quality. This role is based at Comet's Penang site in the Plasma Control Technologies division, where you will work with international colleagues on innovative solutions for global technical challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Technician Diploma
- at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or a related high-tech manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, particularly RF Matching Networks, RF Generators, and standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- ability to interpret technical drawings, perform failure analysis, and support root cause investigations
- Self-motivated, quality-focused team player
- excellent communication skills
- flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
