RMA Assembly Technician

Job Summary
Perform assembly and testing activities per work instructions to ensure quality and safety standards. Troubleshoot assembly, material, and equipment issues, execute minor rework and repairs, and support failure analysis to minimize downtime. Read schematics and technical documentation to guide assembly processes and diagnostics. Maintain tools, fixtures, and workstations through routine maintenance and 5S standards. Collaborate on Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams. This role supports Comet's Plasma Control Technologies division in Penang, manufacturing components for memory chips and touch screens.
Required Qualifications
- Technician Diploma
- at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or a related high-tech manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, particularly RF Matching Networks and RF Generators
- hands-on experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
- ability to interpret technical drawings and perform root cause analysis
- Self-motivated, quality-driven team player with a continuous improvement mindset
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in LabVIEW
- C++
- Excel automation/macros
- working knowledge of SAP
- working knowledge of MES
