RMA Assembly Technician

Job Summary
Perform assembly and testing activities in accordance with production work instructions, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and manufacturing standards. Troubleshoot assembly, material, and equipment issues, perform minor rework, and support failure analysis to minimize downtime. Read and interpret schematics and technical documentation to support assembly processes and equipment troubleshooting. Maintain assembly tools, fixtures, and workstations by performing routine maintenance, following 5S standards, and ensuring equipment readiness. Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is located at the Penang site within Comet's Plasma Control Technologies division, where we manufacture specialized components for plasma process control used in memory chips and touch screens.
Required Qualifications
- Technician Diploma
- at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or a related high-tech manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, particularly RF Matching Networks and RF Generators
- hands-on experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
- ability to interpret technical drawings and perform root cause analysis
- Self-motivated, quality-driven team player with a continuous improvement mindset
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in LabVIEW
- C++
- Excel automation/macros
- working knowledge of SAP
- working knowledge of MES
