Job Summary

RLO Fund Officer supporting the DREEM project within WUSC, focused on strengthening Refugee-Led Organizations to provide sustainable technical assistance for refugee and displaced youth across Africa. Responsibilities include administering grant cycles (disseminating calls for proposals, organizing applicant databases, coordinating due diligence), supporting the RLO Opportunity Fund Manager in Malawi, coordinating monitoring visits, and handling documentation. Also involves capacity-building activities (core curriculum logistics, workshops, mentorship programs), monitoring and reporting (data collection, fund disbursement tracking, preparing stakeholder materials), and maintaining best-practices libraries. The role emphasizes working with RLOs to improve employment and education outcomes for youth, with emphasis on gender responsiveness and inclusive programming; English proficiency is required and French is highly desirable to support Francophone partners. The position requires frequent travel across Africa, flexible scheduling, and remote collaboration across geographies; the project headquarters is in Nairobi, with the successful candidate based in Malawi and authorized to work there.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in International Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field; bachelor’s degree an added advantage
  • 3–4 years of experience in administrative support, grant assistance, or project coordination within an NGO environment
  • Lived experience as a displaced person or strong background with RDP communities and RLOs is valued
  • Fluency in English; French desirable
  • Strong organizational skills; proficient in Google Workspace; experience with database management
  • Ability to support RLO programming remotely is valued
  • Commitment to inclusivity, gender responsiveness, and locally-led solutions
  • WUSC HQ in Nairobi; project assistant based in Malawi; travel across continent; flexible schedule
  • Work authorization to be based in Malawi at time of hire
  • Remote work not indicated as global option
  • Occasional international travel
