Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in core academic subjects to support their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop and implement lesson plans, assess student learning styles, and modify curricula for special education students. Manage classroom behavior, maintain a conducive learning environment, and establish professional relationships with parents and colleagues. Participate in staff development, comply with regulations, and assume responsibility for extracurricular activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned (ESL endorsement/certification required for selected subjects)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
