Job Summary

Set up initial injury files, determine claim reporting status, and investigate new losses to report to the TPA and carrier. Liaise between Operations and the TPA, maintain accurate logs of injuries and medical statuses, and manage multiple reports using spreadsheets. Coordinate return-to-work programs, review and approve medical bills, and process subpoenas. Perform daily data entry into the Workers Compensation log and Origami database, gather weekly reports, and follow up with store management, vendors, and injured workers. Provide updated information to Human Resources and Benefits, assist with customer complaint resolution, and support the Safety Department's incentive programs and documentation collection.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must have detail oriented with financial date and statutory due dates
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, dealing with employees. Dealing with delicate situations and confidential information
  • Ability to interact and work in conjunction with other department within the company
  • Ability to work independently
  • Superior project management and time management skills
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving skills

Desired Qualifications

  • College Degree
  • Professional Certification IEA
  • 1-year experience in handling Workers Compensation claims
  • Medical, legal and/or insurance related experience
  • Experience with managing a claims Database system
  • Advanced technical knowledge and skills in claims handling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g.-Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point)
  • Typing 35 WPM
  • Experience with 10 key, fax and multi line phone system
  • Bi-Lingual
