Job Summary
The Risk Manager – Construction & Development leads identification and mitigation of construction-related risk exposures across a national portfolio of ground-up developments, major capital projects, and tenant improvements. Responsibilities include advising on insurance structures and risk transfer, managing builder’s risk programs, OCIP/CCIP participation, contractor insurance compliance, contract review for indemnities and liability limitations, and claims management. The role collaborates with Legal, Development, Construction Project Management, Procurement, and Operations to align risk strategies with enterprise risk tolerance and to provide executive-level reporting on exposures and insurance performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business or related field
- 7+ years of construction risk management or related experience
- Experience with builder’s risk, OCIP/CCIP, contractor insurance, and contract review
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (AIA and negotiated forms) and risk transfer provisions
- Proficiency with RMIS and Microsoft 365
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain confidentiality
