Job Summary
Leads and coordinates the organization's risk management and safety initiatives within a Community Health Center in eastern North Carolina. Responsibilities include administering risk management and safety programs, conducting internal safety/compliance audits, producing reports for the Board and executive leadership, guiding staff on risk, safety, and compliance projects, coordinating emergency drills and OSHA-related activities, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and collaborating with the Quality Improvement Department to advance regulatory adherence and patient safety. Requires strong written/verbal communication, data analysis, and knowledge of healthcare regulations; ideal candidates have healthcare risk management experience and familiarity with PCMH/FTCA/UDS frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field OR Associate’s Degree with applicable business experience
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards (HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, HRSA)
- Experience or familiarity with risk assessment, incident reporting, root cause analysis (RCA)
- Understanding of insurance claims, liability management, and legal terminology related to healthcare risk
- Previous risk management experience in a healthcare setting preferred
