Job Summary
Process Workers' Compensation claims and manage risk management functions for Florida schools, adhering to state statutes, board policies, and financial reporting requirements. Analyze and interpret critical data using spreadsheets and reporting tools while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive employee files. Resolve conflicts and apply strong analytical skills to implement cost accounting and program reporting standards. Complete Level 2 background screening including fingerprinting and criminal history checks as required by Florida State Statute 435.04 and AHCA regulations. High school graduate or GED required with three years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or have passed the G.E.D. equivalency examination
- Certification and/or education & training in risk management and/or insurance field
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in one or more of the following: Workers' Compensation claims processing, insurance, and related risk management functions
- Highly Skilled in Human Relations and conflict resolutions
- Strong analytical, problem solving, written and verbal skills
- Adept at computer programs, spreadsheets, reporting and processing of critical data
- Ability to work with Confidential/sensitive information and employee files
- Ability to analyze, interpret and implement The Florida Statutes, the State Board of Education Regulations, Financial and Program Cost Accounting and Reporting for Florida Schools and Florida School Board Policies
- Submit to a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
- Background check includes fingerprinting for statewide criminal history records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
- Background check includes national criminal history records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation
- Background check includes local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies
- Background check includes a search of the sexual predator and sexual offender registries of any state in which the prospective employee resided during the immediate preceding 5 years
