Job Summary
Conduct investigations into workplace violence, misconduct, and liability events including patient/visitor falls, sexual and physical assaults, and harassment. Manage and document investigatory activities, including interviews and evidence gathering, often under legal counsel direction. Review incident reports, complete follow-up investigations, and respond to variances in the variance management system. Serve as a liaison between departments and law enforcement, utilizing de-escalation methods to communicate with disgruntled patients and employees. Maintain confidentiality while assisting in employee terminations and preventing risk-related events. Subject matter expert on variance reporting software with a focus on evidence collection and report preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least one (3) years of law enforcement experience or similar experience as an investigator
- Knowledge of law, court procedures, and police procedures and processes
- Ability to work independently and to direct team members in conducting investigations
- Good oral and written communication skills to present interviews accurately and to prepare reports on investigations
- Good employee relations skills to conduct effective interviews with suspects and witnesses
- Ability to operate calmly in stressful situations
- Ability to operate computer and work within the system's variance tracking system
- Good hearing and visual acuity necessary for surveillance duties and for interviewing witnesses and suspects

Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in criminal justice, public administration or similar field
