Job Summary
Executive Director in the Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) Credit Risk team responsible for credit analysis and complex credit decisions across a diversified portfolio of insurance clients (Life, Property & Casualty, Reinsurance, Brokers, and related financial institutions) in North America. Lead end-to-end credit processes including diligence, risk grading, credit approval materials, legal documentation negotiation, facility setup, and post-approval monitoring; oversee ongoing portfolio management with strong risk monitoring and industry analysis; monitor regulatory and market developments affecting the insurance sector and brief stakeholders; build cross-functional relationships with coverage bankers, product partners, operations, legal, and finance; lead analytical projects focusing on client and industry risks; mentor junior credit officers and foster development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years in commercial and investment banking, credit risk, and portfolio management
- 3+ years of insurance industry expertise
- Proficient in insurance company credit analysis leveraging GAAP and Statutory accounting frameworks
- Strong understanding of insurance regulatory regimes in the US and Bermuda
- Deep familiarity with corporate banking products, treasury management, capital markets, structured finance, corporate finance, and derivatives, including related documentation; experience negotiating loan and trading documentation is required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal
- Executive presence and ability to think critically and multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Track record of success coaching, developing and retaining high performing analysts and associates
