Risk & Compliance Officer

Job Summary
Own the risk framework by developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the enterprise risk management system while keeping the risk register actionable. Monitor regulatory developments across key markets including GDPR, NIS2, and ISO standards to translate them into clear guidance for teams. Partner with stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Product, and IT to lead internal audits, execute compliance reviews, and report findings to senior leadership. Support data privacy initiatives by collaborating on DPIAs, data breaches, and vendor due diligence. Write and maintain engaging policies, procedures, and training content while delivering in-house compliance trainings. Fluent in Dutch and English, you will report directly to leadership within the Legal, Risk, and Compliance team.
Required Qualifications
- University or applied sciences diploma
- 6+ years of experience in a risk, compliance, or internal audit role
- Solid working knowledge of GDPR, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and relevant EU regulatory frameworks
- Experience with internal and external audits
- Structured and detail-oriented
- Strong communicator — you know how to clearly explain complex topics to non-experts verbally and in writing without being overly technical
- A proactive, ownership mindset
- Fluent in Dutch and English, verbal and in writing
- A genuine belief that compliance and growth are not opposites — they're partners
Desired Qualifications
- ideally in a fast-growing international tech or SaaS environment
- Experience with NIS2
