Job Summary
The Risk Analyst will resolve risk-related issues and perform tasks to mitigate risk and minimize losses from merchant processing. Responsibilities include accessing risk systems daily to analyze merchants exceeding risk parameters, reviewing risky transactions across multiple systems and payment types, deciding whether to hold funds for review or process batches, contacting merchants for information, collaborating with support teams on complex cases, reviewing Merchant Exceptions Reports, evaluating risk cases from support (e.g., parameter increases, bank changes, funding holds, chargebacks), performing periodic reviews on high risk/high-volume merchants, analyzing merchant trends to determine potential exposure, and taking appropriate action to resolve chargeback-related problems. Strong skills in Microsoft Office, problem solving, verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service abilities, time management, multi-tasking, and independent judgment are required, along with familiarity with Know Your Customer / Know Your Business concepts and experience in merchant acquiring and payment system processing (ACH and Credit Card); PayFac knowledge is a plus. The physical requirements describe a call center/office environment with typical desk-based work and occasional standing, lifting up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in merchant and/or payment experience in the financial, ISO or agent environment
- Knowledge: Risk and chargeback knowledge is a plus
- Merchant acquiring & payment system processing is required (both ACH & Credit Card)
- PayFac knowledge is a plus
