Job Summary
The Risk Advisor is responsible for new insurance account production and sales activities within assigned accounts, conducting market research to develop a business base for educating and selling insurance services, while keeping up with community activities to generate leads. Duties include achieving annual revenue goals, maintaining a profitable book of business for existing clients, documenting new business activities, presenting recommendations, and advising clients on risk issues. Candidates must have strong sales experience in insurance, excellent communication skills, and advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- A Life and Health License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained
- A minimum of 2+ years sales experience in the insurance industry with a focus on Employee Benefits coverage
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
- Ability to work independently and on a team
Desired Qualifications
- College degree preferred, with preference given to individuals with experience in Risk Management
- Strong networking and strategic vision of relationship building and utilization of Centers of Influence (COI)
- Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills for both in-person and teleconference/webinar sessions
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills required to maintain effective relationships
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Strong working knowledge of insurance markets, products and usages, as well as insurance rating and underwriting procedures
Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license, the ability to travel to client sites and a reliable source of transportation
