Job Summary
RISE Education Support Professional provides personal care and instructional support to students with disabilities under teacher supervision; assists with 1:1 and small-group instruction, reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives, maintains student records, monitors students in common areas, and supports access to transportation. Role includes preparing instructional materials, assisting with behavior management, confidentiality of student information, and fulfillment of duties as assigned. Requires ability to lift and handle students or equipment from 1–99 pounds, pass a yearly safety competency review and a pre-employment physical. 0.875 FTE, 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, at Lincoln High School; pay starts at $18.42/hour with a $2 differential to $20.42/hour plus benefits if eligible.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of post high school education or higher, or pass a standardized test approved by the state of South Dakota for designated Education Assistant positions
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or experience with behavior management
- Must demonstrate and pass safety competency review on a yearly basis
- Pre-employment physical required for new hires/transfers
