Job Summary
Obtain fee titles, easements, permits, and agreements for utility, public, and private projects by negotiating with property owners and representatives. Research property records to verify ownership and encumbrances, then review title reports, survey drawings, and legal descriptions for accuracy. Conduct negotiations for property rights, purchase, leases, or easements while informing owners of applicable laws and regulations. Prepare preliminary cost estimates, appraisal reports, and legal instruments for conveyance, including deeds and purchase contracts. Serves as a liaison with agencies for approved permits and conducts daily local travel to landowners and clients. Requires a valid driver's license, real estate license, and two years of right of way industry experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years' experience working in the right of way industry including experience reading plans, understanding legal descriptions, reading title reports, and negotiating with property owners
- Valid driver's license
- Valid real estate license in the state of assignment
- Ability to pass a background check
