Job Summary
Right-of-Way Acquisition Agent sought in Houston, TX to research, negotiate, and elect to purchase short- and long-term land rights and rights-of-way for construction. Responsibilities include researching ownership interests, identifying permits, acquiring permits, overseeing title transfers, deeds, mortgage concerns, zoning, and related legal forms; preparing daily activity and special reports on complex easements and damage settlements; performing due diligence and liaising with landowners on ownership and access; reviewing third-party development plans and right-of-way records to resolve conflicts; maintaining compliance with company policies and client procedures; field and office duties with travels as needed; strong knowledge of property valuation, survey drawings, and alignment sheets; ability to work in a field environment and in a team setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in the Right of Way industry
- Excellent working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and right of way policies and procedures
- Knowledge of settlement instruments and contract terms
- Strong oral and written communication skills and customer focus
- Ability to plan and organize workload, work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Ability to complete right-of-way transactions independently
- Ability to interpret alignment sheets and plats
- Experience with acquisition & relocation documents, notices, processes, and procedures
