Job Summary
Rigging Instructor needed to deliver Basic Rigging curriculum in classroom and hands-on settings at the Port of Brownsville. Responsibilities include demonstrating proper rigging techniques and safety practices, preparing students for NCCER written and practical certification exams in accordance with NCCER standards, maintaining a safe training environment, and evaluating student performance. Requires strong rigging experience (5+ years), knowledge of rigging equipment and load calculations, and teaching abilities; NCCER certification preferred with ability to obtain ICTP if not certified. Part-time/as-needed schedule with courses planned in advance (evenings or weekends may apply).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of rigging experience (shipyard, energy, or industrial preferred)
- Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, load calculations, and safety procedures
- NCCER certification in rigging preferred
- Ability to obtain NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) if not already certified
- Strong communication and teaching skills
- Reliable, professional, and able to work flexible hours
