Job Summary
Rigger duties include fabricating, installing and repairing rigging and weight handling gear on ships, attaching hoists, chain falls, jacks, rollers and pulleys according to load types, signaling cranes to move loads, and controlling heavy equipment through confined spaces. The role involves laying out lines on cleats or bollards, assisting in ship dry docking operations, and performing related tasks with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Requires high school education/equivalent (preferred) and at least 4 years of Boatswain Mate experience; ability to work all shifts and heights; strong mechanical and construction/manufacturing background is preferred.
