Job Summary
Ride Operator at a seasonal theme park setting: greet guests, enforce ride safety requirements and park policies, operate rides according to Standard Operating Procedures, maintain focus on ride operations, keep assigned locations clean, and assist guests with questions. Must be at least 16, read operation manuals, communicate effectively in English, and be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role involves daily use of cleaning chemicals, exposure to extreme weather, standing for long periods, and physical duties such as lifts up to 30 pounds (up to 100 pounds with aid). Training on safety and SOPs, opportunities for career development and leadership, and benefits like park passes are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be able to read and understand operations manuals
- Must possess oral and written English skills, and must be able to communicate with guests and fellow Team Members effectively
- Utilize chemicals and cleaning agents daily
- Be aware, attentive, and work well with others
- Some positions require working at elevated heights and standing for extended periods of time
- Energy and enthusiasm for long shifts
- Available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs
- If 18 years of age and older, ability to work overtime
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including hot temperatures and exposure to full sunlight, while taking precautions, including hydration and sun-protection
- Attention to detail
- Requires standing, sitting, kneeling and bending
- Requires walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling
- Requires constant lifts and carries up to 30 pounds
- Requires occasional carries up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck
- Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine, and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing and speech
- Possess 20/20 corrected vision. (Corrective lens, if required, must be worn while on duty)
- Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty)
