Ride Development Engineer

Job Summary

Coordinate ride work activities with customers, submit requests through Engineering Resource Manager, and manage necessary tools for tuning. Determine hydraulic valve code adjustments to meet ride and handling targets while directing support technicians at customer locations. Maintain accurate change logs and evaluation notes, then complete pre- and post-tuning activities including issuing Engineering Reports and obtaining customer sign-off. Release hydraulic settings for production by creating valve BOMs and preparing documents for final codes. Analyze results from customer DV/PV testing and prepare test reports based on findings.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience with strong functional/product knowledge
  • ability to train others
  • Possesses good working knowledge of vehicle dynamics fundamentals for application to damper development
  • Ability to evaluate vehicle ride characteristics and associate them with product specific component changes
  • Understands function of latest ZF adaptive valve technology
  • is adept at execution of all types of ZF adaptive valve settings
  • Exhibits superior knowledge and execution of damper / ride development processes
  • both ZF internal processes and customer processes
  • Demonstrates proven skills in damper characterization and testing
