RHVAC Technician

Job Summary

Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. Install new equipment in compliance with local codes, replace worn parts, and calibrate sensors to ensure efficient operation. Diagnose electrical failures, mechanical breakdowns, and refrigerant leaks while communicating solutions to clients. Follow strict safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and EPA regulations, when handling pressurized equipment or working in confined spaces. Maintain accurate service records and complete necessary paperwork for warranty claims and inventory. Rotating on-call evenings and weekends may be required depending on business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment DMV check
  • Must be able to pass drug screening
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Refrigeration license required as defined by State(s) regulations
  • EPA Certification
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs or more)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to work in environments that may require protective equipment (e.g., gloves, hard hats, safety glasses)
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, standing, bending, and crouching for extended periods
  • Rotating on-call evenings and weekends
  • Overtime or weekend work
  • Ability to store company issued vehicle

Desired Qualifications

  • In the process of obtaining a journeymen license
  • Post-secondary education in RHVAC
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or formal RHVAC training program
  • Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment necessary for RHVAC installation and repair
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow technical diagrams and schematics
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to store company issued vehicle
