Job Summary
Survey stores to write scopes of work for refrigeration, HVAC, and control systems, then install new capital equipment and machinery per manufacturer specifications. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex failures using diagnostic tools, and execute corrective actions to minimize downtime. Collaborate with technicians, vendors, and engineers to commission new systems, implement upgrades, and maintain strict safety compliance including OSHA and LOTO protocols. Document all maintenance activities and repair reports in the computerized management system while managing spare parts inventory. Requires daily travel within a 100-mile radius and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass pre‐employment DMV check, drug screening, and background check
- Refrigeration license as required by applicable state regulations
- EPA Certification
- OSHA 10‐Hour certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship or formal RHVAC training program
- Authorized to work in the United States (no company sponsorship)
- English proficiency (read, write, speak)
- Ability to read and understand building drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Experience in the supermarket or grocery industry (preferred)
- Willingness to travel: daily travel within a 100‐mile radius; occasional travel (5–10%) within a 200‐mile radius with potential overnight stays (subject to business needs)
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs or more)
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in environments that may require protective equipment (e.g., gloves, hard hats, safety glasses)
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, standing, bending, and crouching for extended periods while working on equipment
- Ability to store company issued vehicle preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Background in refrigeration, HVAC, controls, and/or electrical
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, and EMS construction principles
- Knowledge of controls systems and control sequences
- Ability to generate accurate, detailed notes and reports
- Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with owners and contractors
- Ability to lead project meetings
- Independent, self‐starter
