Job Summary

Prepare exam rooms, measure vital signs, and room patients while verifying medical history and updating electronic charts. Perform lab draws, venipunctures, and finger sticks; administer biologic medications and assist with procedures like injections, ultrasounds, and suture removal under provider direction. Manage clinic and physician schedules, coordinate appointments and surgeries, and triage phone calls from emergency or urgent patients. Submit medication refill requests, handle prior authorizations, and process specimen shipments daily. Maintain logs for equipment, medications, and sterilization fluids while ensuring coding requirements are met during data entry. Act as a prescribing delegate to enter medical orders into the CPOE system under direct supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Athletic Trainer (ATC)
  • 1-3 years' experience in a medical clinic setting
  • Ability to multi-task to provide services to patients in a warm, professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in patient flow management
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in medical assisting
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in confidential management of patient health information
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines
  • Ability to complete job required training
  • Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Ability to demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Ability to work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours
  • Ability to travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center
  • Ability to work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Ability to effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel to other work locations, if required
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift
  • Ability to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents
  • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer)
  • Ability to administer biologic and other medications
  • Ability to act as a prescribing delegate to enter medical orders
  • Ability to triage phone calls from emergency/urgent patients
  • Ability to relay, screen, and appropriately reply to all patient calls
  • Ability to coordinate ordering supplies and/or equipment for surgeries and/or clinics
  • Ability to support multiple specialties
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Ability to work out of Woodbury, Eagan, Hudson & Stillwater locations

Desired Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Willingness to become proficient in phlebotomy
