Job Summary
Coordinate with Z-Mill roller teams to schedule needed rolls based on material width and gauge, then place rolls on staging tables and set up grinders. Per work instructions, grind Z-Mills including work, first intermediate, drive, and idles, while building bearing housings for intermediate rolls. Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations, including strict adherence to Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines, required PPE such as safety shoes and hard hats, and environmental policies. Ensure a clean, safe work area while reporting equipment defects to supervisors immediately. Participate in relevant continuous improvement programs and adapt to assigned duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent (GED)
- Mobility in plant
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk
- Frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Visual ability with or without correction
- Communication abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn, adapt, and retain information
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
