RF Test Technician

Job Summary

Set up, align, and tune passive RF filters and multiplexing devices for space and military applications. Operate acceptance and qualification testing using RF sweepers, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, high-voltage power supplies, and thermal vacuum chambers. Interpret electrical tuning instructions and test procedures, then prepare accurate test data packages and manufacturing records in compliance with established protocols. Read and interpret engineering drawings while communicating effectively with team members and supervisors. Requires a working knowledge of radio electronics and microwave test equipment, with at least five years of experience in a space or flight-qualified manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to tune RF devices (Filters, lumped element, Combine, multiplexers, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of radio electronics equal to that gained by an associate's degree in electronics or equivalent military training
  • Working knowledge of network analysis and familiarity with devices such as the PNA's, 8720 or 8753
  • Working knowledge of various microwave test equipment, i.e., Strip Chart Recorders, Power Meters, etc.
  • At least 5 years' experience in the microwave component industry and experience in a space or flight qualified manufacturing environment
  • Associate's degree in Electronic Technology or other relevant field (or equivalent military schooling), preferably with supplemental coursework in microwave theory, OR additional equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience testing electronic devices, preferably including experience testing microwave devices or RF amplifier units
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (e.g. Green Card holder), or a protected individual as defined by the International Traffic in Arm Regulations (ITAR)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with vacuum electronic devices (such as traveling wave tubes) or other microwave devices
  • Knowledge of environmental test processes and equipment

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under ITAR
