Job Summary
Assist with installing, testing, and maintaining wireless network equipment, antennas, repeaters, and transmission systems under supervision while learning electrical and electronic wiring practices. Support backhaul and power systems by installing AC/DC units and cabling, and help track inventory, manage spares, and prepare defective items for return. Observe and inspect equipment for hazards or defects, log trouble tickets, and shadow senior staff during customer complaint resolution. Join in site acceptance tests, signal checks, and coverage surveys to understand performance optimization. Maintain documentation of work performed and inventory updates while collaborating with other departments, vendors, and contractors. This program requires a High School diploma, US citizenship, and Guam residency for three consecutive years, with a minimum of two classes per semester alongside a 40-hour workweek.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- US citizen or resident alien
- At least 18 years of age or older
- Resident of Guam for a period not less than three (3) consecutive years before entry into the program
- Must be able to attend a minimum of two (2) classes per semester as identified by program coordinator
- Must be able to work forty (40) hours per week with IT&E
Desired Qualifications
- Guam Driver's License
- Experience in the wireless technical operations and/or engineering aspects of telecommunications
