RF Network Engineer - Tactical Communications

Job Summary
Configure and manage networking hardware including routers, switches, servers, radios (HF, VHF, UHF), and satellite terminals; ensure secure, reliable, and interoperable connectivity across naval, aerial, vehicular, and field assets; provide expert-level on-site troubleshooting and rapid response for field teams; maintain and update technical documentation; implement QA/QC measures and provide recommendations for continuous improvement; support field exercises and work in a fast-paced environment; travel up to 25% and hold an Active Secret Clearance with US citizenship; preferred experience with TAC, Starlink, MPU-5, Trellis, Silvus, CCNA, and satellite communications; bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- ACTIVE Secret Clearance (or eligibility)
- Proficient with technical documentation and process improvements
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments independently or as part of a team
- Experience with Mesh Networks and Mesh Network Radios (e.g., MPU5, TrellisWare)
- Working knowledge with WinTAK/ATAK
- Proficiency configuring hardware appliances including mesh network radios (MPU5), routers, switches, firewalls, and security appliances (VPNs)
- Experience managing and tracking equipment inventories (procurement, deployment, decommissioning)
- Ability to support field exercises and provide on-site troubleshooting
- Travel up to 25%
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- Knowledge of military communication standards and protocols
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification
- Experience with satellite communication systems
- Ability to document system diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
