Job Summary
Conduct RF design simulations, board-level high-speed digital design, and schematic capture for wireless communication systems operating between 130 MHz and 6 GHz. Develop detailed designs, technical documentation, and EMC-compliant PCB layouts while collaborating on design and integration efforts. Utilize signal generators, network analyzers, and Altium EDA tools to analyze link margins and system gains. This role requires a regular in-office presence at Vanteon's Western NY facility, with potential weekly commitments exceeding 40 hours or work outside regular business hours. Candidates must be comfortable with prolonged desk work and moderate physical activities. Vanteon specializes in wireless and RF design services for markets including telecom, aviation, and government, developing products ranging from handheld devices to RADAR systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 2 years of hardware design experience
- 1 year in RF design and development
- Familiar with digital communications and RF systems, including link margin/system gain analysis
- Familiar with Microstrip / Stripline design concepts
- Familiar with RF, microwave, or analog circuit design concepts
- Understanding of high-speed PCB design and EMC compliance considerations
- General understanding of VHF/UHF/microwave filters, amplifiers, oscillators, and mixers
- Experience using signal generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Understanding of nonlinear circuits, measurements, and simulation techniques
- Familiar with Altium EDA tools
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Highly motivated, well-organized self-starter
- Regular in-office presence (Western NY)
- Ability to perform low to moderately strenuous physical activities requiring standing, walking, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Ability to work with ITAR and CUI data
- Must be able to work with ITAR and CUI data
