Job Summary
RF Engineering Technician at Leidos supports hands-on design, development, integration, and testing of RF/microwave systems and antenna hardware in a laboratory environment. Responsibilities include performing testing and characterization of RF components, building and maintaining RF fixtures and wiring harnesses, supporting calibration and data collection, and documenting results. The role requires interpreting schematics and test procedures, working with VNAs, spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, and signal generators, and complying with security requirements for DoD programs. Active DoD Secret clearance is required; Top Secret clearance preferred. Based in St. Petersburg, FL, with work in classified environments and adherence to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related field with 4 - 6 years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of hands-on RF and analog circuit testing in lieu of a degree
- Experience testing and troubleshooting RF and analog circuits and subsystems
- Proficiency with RF test and measurement equipment, including vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, and signal generators
- Ability to interpret technical documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document test results accurately
