Job Summary
Conduct RF design, analysis, and manufacture of antennas, feeds, and stationary/mobile antenna systems. Provide design support across conceptual, detailed, integration, and test phases to achieve on-time completion. Prepare and present design summaries during internal and external reviews. Support component and system-level RF testing, documentation using ThinKom records retention, and business development proposal efforts. Work within an integrated product team under the direction of a lead RF Engineer and Program Manager, potentially supporting multiple programs simultaneously. Requires US DoD Security Clearance and ability to travel up to 5%.
Required Qualifications
- BS in RF, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
- Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance in support of US Government contracts/subcontracts
- Must have excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written form
- Interpersonal skills to effectively work with ThinKom personnel as well as suppliers and customers
- Ability to effectively present information in team meetings and design reviews
- Must be able to work in an environment that may be subjected to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials and chemicals
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
- Must be able to lift and/or move files or boxes up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to work in an environment that may be subjected to occasional irregular or extended work hours
- Must be able to sit for extended lengths of time
- Must be able to apply programming to engineering problems
- Technically proficient in MS Office products
- Basic computer programming skills
- Position also requires knowledge of higher-level computer programming languages such as C or FORTRAN
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the field of RF Engineering desired but not mandatory
- Previous antenna design experience is highly desirable
- Experience using EM software such as ANSYS HFSSTM is highly desirable
- Experience with mathematical design tools such as MathCad and MATLAB is highly desirable
- Prefer candidates with a thirst to learn and to become practiced in the art of novel antenna technologies
