Job Summary
RF Engineer III at Crane Aerospace & Electronics is a senior, independent contributor specializing in RF/Microwave hardware for defense applications (spaceflight). Responsibilities include end-to-end systems analysis (modeling/simulation from VHF to millimeter-wave), designing and developing RF subsystems (receivers, exciters, synthesizers, A/D–D/A stages), integrating/testing hardware, supporting specification development and responding to RFQs/RFPs with engineering inputs, documenting designs, and mentoring junior engineers while driving manufacturability and design standards. Required BS in Electrical Engineering with 5–7+ years in microwave/millimeter-wave design; proficiency with RF/microwave modeling tools (Gensys, ADS, AWR, HFSS, Ansoft Designer/Maxwell, Matlab, etc.); knowledge of complex communication systems theory and RF architectures; ability to work under ITAR constraints (US persons only). The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, customer interactions, and contribution to design-to-production transitions; candidates must be able to produce design documentation, manage scope within customer requirements, and operate in a manufacturing environment.
