Job Summary
Collaborate in a multi-discipline team to solve complex engineering problems for RF product development. Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for antenna and RF electronics designs. Develop prototype hardware and coordinate fabrication, then perform hands-on integration and test support. Conduct design and drawing reviews with peers and subject matter experts. This internship supports the Effector RF Products Department at RTX, providing access to technical mentors and career development opportunities for current college students in Electrical Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance
- Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
- Actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session
- Minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session
- Experience and/or coursework, project, or internship in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing and design, thermodynamics and heat transfer, vibrations, materials, mechatronics, and/or statics
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or studies in 3D CAD modeling
- Experience or studies in engineering drawing creation
- Experience or studies in prototype fabrication
- Experience or studies in electronics packaging
- Experience or studies in test fixture design
- Experience or studies in circuit layout
- Experience or studies in hardware integration and testing
- Experience or studies in analysis (e.g. structural or thermal FEA, tolerance analysis, etc.)
- Familiarity with 3D modeling CAD tools, preferably Creo Parametric
- Experience creating engineering drawings
- Experience fabricating prototype designs
- Class projects, professional internships, or academic research demonstrating the ability to apply technical coursework
