Job Summary
Assistant Civil Engineer in the NYC DEP Regulatory Review Unit within the Bureau of Water & Sewer Operations. Responsibilities include reviewing engineering plans for water mains and sewers to ensure compliance with NYCDEP standards and engineering practices; assisting in researching, planning, and developing design standards; maintaining project communications and documentation; leading meetings with city agencies, contractors, consultants, utilities, and private entities; engaging in studies related to engineering functions; preparing performance indicators as needed; appointments are subject to OMB approval; positions open to candidates under the 55-a Program; requires a civil engineering degree with one year of experience or a Master's degree in civil engineering.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.
