Job Summary
Revenue Officer II Supervisor role within the North Carolina Department of Revenue’s Large Case Unit (LCU) in the TPAC division. Supervises Revenue Officer II staff located throughout North Carolina (including part-time teleworkers), ensures adherence to conduct and personnel policies, and focuses on training, coaching, and directing work. Responsible for resolving high-dollar delinquent liabilities by researching, applying tax laws, and pursuing enforcement actions such as liens, levies, seizures, and asset disposition; may require special enforcement actions and interacting with taxpayers to establish installment agreements or Offers in Compromise. Requires deep knowledge of tax schedules and enforcement provisions, and the ability to analyze complex tax and collection problems, exercise sound judgment, and apply policies and procedures. Emphasizes leadership, supervision, and performance management of a geographically dispersed team, with a compensation and benefits package and state employment considerations. End-to-end responsibilities include supervising, organizing, and monitoring work, training staff, and ensuring compliance with divisional and departmental policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in accounting or collection work involving public contact; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
