Job Summary
Ensure insurance information is entered correctly for successful claim submission and payment. Communicate with patients regarding balances, billing concerns, and correct insurance data on file. Work in multiple systems to organize information supporting billing, resolve pre-bill and payment denials, and oversee inventory volumes within thresholds. Conduct reconciliation processes to capture all charges and manage communications between practice and vendor staff. Report revenue cycle metrics and escalate issues for resolution while assisting in payer report preparation. This role supports CardioOne's mission to empower independent cardiology practices with integrated technology and AI-enabled solutions across operations and revenue cycle.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in the industry
- Strong understanding of Insurance products and claim processing
- Knowledge of claim formatting and transmission guidelines
- Detailed understanding of EOB/ERA data and impact on financial responsibility
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes, and modifiers
- Experience with medical office procedures and medical collections
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Cardiology or diagnostic imaging experience preferred including prior authorization requirements/processes
- Certified Professional Coder
- A passion and proficiency for patient advocacy
- Comfort with electronic medical records systems (Athena Collector knowledge is preferred, Hybrid Chart familiarity is the cherry on top)
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
