Revenue Cycle Senior Billing Specialist

Job Summary
Process initial and rebill claims for government and commercial payers, monitor billing reports to resolve errors, and verify invoices against accounts receivable records. Respond to inquiries from branches, payers, and internal teams while reviewing Explanation of Benefits and payer denials. Act as backup during supervisor absences, mentor less experienced staff, and assist in training new hires to ensure clean claims processing across multiple branch locations. This role supports the Hospice Division within a national leader in hospice and home health care, driving accurate and timely billing and collections for all payer types.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3–5 years of hospice or home health billing/reimbursement experience
- Familiarity with CMS regulations, ICD-10, and CPT coding
- Working knowledge of billing platforms and clearinghouses such as DDE, Waystar, E-solutions, and Nthrive
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of detailed billing tasks
- Ability to analyze AR data and implement collection strategies
- Experience working within a multi-site or multi-state healthcare organization
- Knowledge of hospice documentation and billing compliance standards
