Job Summary
Oversee all billing functions to ensure accurate claim submission and timely collections across Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, commercial insurance, and self-pay accounts. Monitor medical documentation for authorization and billing accuracy, lead team appeals for Medicaid claims, and partner with field staff to secure clean claim submissions. Collaborate with Directors of Billing and Collections to maintain compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations while developing performance metrics and implementing new billing systems. Hire, train, and develop billing staff across multiple locations and time zones, distributing workloads strategically and fostering cross-departmental collaboration. Prepare detailed reporting and trend analyses to support strategic decisions and resolve escalated billing concerns.
Required Qualifications
- College degree in accounting, finance, business management, technology, or healthcare administration
- Demonstrated experience in leading billing or revenue cycle operations, preferably in healthcare
- Proven ability to manage staff across multiple locations and time zones
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements, managed care contracts, and commercial payers
- Familiarity with state and federal employment laws
- Experience with Homecare HomeBase or similar healthcare billing systems
- Strong analytical skills, project management abilities, and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of comfort working with multiple computer platforms and digital tools
- Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing needs, and lead through transformation
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
