Job Summary
Review insurance enrollment, certification, and federal requirements with participants while tracking documentation needs, eligibility levels, and authorization re-enrollment. Support individuals in Residential, Inpatient, and Outpatient Programs by coordinating benefits with third-party payers, Medicaid, and state agencies. Build relationships with organizations to improve access to care and negotiate services for individuals seeking treatment. Educate program staff on evolving benefit changes and requirements while attending training to stay current on plan updates. Participate in administrative committees and represent the agency to the community as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Two years of experience in billing or benefits enrollment in health care, social services or managed care setting
- Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities about benefit management
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent computer skills with a basic knowledge of electronic Health record systems, health care billing systems and insurance portals
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
