Job Summary
Revenue Cycle Customer Service Specialist to handle incoming patient calls related to balance inquiries, update demographics and insurance information, explain payer processing, set up patient payment plans, process credit card payments, and assist with billing disputes. Role requires knowledge of CPT/ICD-10, Medicare/Medicaid payor policies, Athena EMR experience, and strong customer service skills. 3+ years of medical call center or healthcare office experience is preferred. The position is full-time and based in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid schedule (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in a physician office, hospital, or other healthcare call center setting (minimum 3 years)
- Experience with EMR systems (Athena EMR highly preferred)
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care payor policies
- Ability to interpret insurance payor explanation of benefits
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
