Job Summary
Oversee financial and administrative operations of the skilled nursing facility by managing accounts receivable, overseeing resident billing across Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, and preparing monthly revenue cycle reports. Submit claims to carriers, monitor status, and make daily collection calls to resolve accounts receivable while resolving claim rejections through research and error correction. Coordinate financial aspects of resident admissions, verify insurance coverage, maintain trust accounts, and communicate with families regarding outstanding balances or payment plans. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations by maintaining accurate documentation for audits and implementing internal controls. Oversee receptionist scheduling, develop office workflows, and attend weekly meetings including care plan and discharge reviews. Requires on-site presence five days a week with occasional Manager on Duty rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Skilled nursing facility experience
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare related revenue cycle experience from a Medicare, Medicaid and insurance billing perspective
- Willingness to work with residents and families to collect out of pocket co-pays
- Follow-up and seek payment on insurance, Medicare and Medicaid claims
- Work with residents to complete Medicaid pending application process based on NC State requirements
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in healthcare billing and collections in long-term care or skilled nursing
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing processes
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft and billing software
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills for resident and family interactions
- Commitment to ethical and compliant business practices
- Not a remote position
- In the office 5 days a week
