Job Summary
The Hospitality Intern supports the Carolina Athletic Hospitality (CAH) program by assisting the Senior and Associate Hospitality Managers, coordinating premium areas for home UNC football and home basketball/baseball events, and serving as a liaison between donors/guests and catering staff. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training game-day staff; training and supervising staff; managing premium areas; administering policies for admission, food/beverage, and operations; creating and distributing game-week newsletters; maintaining inventory of game-day supplies; coordinating game-day setup; communicating with staff, donors, and athletics personnel; and providing general office support. The role emphasizes delivering exceptional hospitality and service, strong interpersonal communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. The position is an internship with on-site, hybrid office/event environments and requires commitment to a full slate of home-and-event dates; travel to event sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to all home football games (10-12 hours), the day prior of each home football game, assigned men’s/women’s home basketball games, & baseball games; includes nights and weekends
- Undergraduate college degree preferred (or in progress)
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to solve problems under pressure
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritizing skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Possess a team player mentality
- Dependable and trustworthy with a strong work ethic
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Have reliable transportation
