Job Summary

Install, modify, and upgrade HVAC systems in existing commercial and mixed-use buildings, adapting to occupied and unoccupied spaces with minimal disruption. Remove and install equipment, ductwork, piping, and components while loading, unloading, and organizing materials. Use hand and power tools safely to install equipment per manufacturer specifications, wire line and low voltage circuits, and install copper refrigerant lines with soldering and brazing. Fit sheet metal and flex duct systems, connect gas lines, and support commissioning activities. Work in confined spaces, climb scaffolds, and lift materials up to 75 lbs while adhering to OSHA safety requirements. Requires own tools, valid driver's license, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have your own tools
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude
  • Must have valid driver license and auto insurance
  • Physical stamina and attention to detail throughout workday
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50–75 lbs
  • Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolds, or elevated platforms
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel in confined spaces
  • Must be able to read blueprints, measure accurately, and detect sounds of leaks or machinery
  • Must maintain the physical stamina and mobility necessary to perform job duties safely and effectively throughout the workday
  • Must be able to work in occupied and unoccupied space
  • Must be able to adapt to existing conditions
  • Must be able to deliver high-quality installations with minimal disruption
  • Must have strong technical skills in ductwork, equipment installation, refrigerant piping, and basic electrical and control wiring
  • Must be committed to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced retrofit environment
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Must be able to install HVAC related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications
  • Must be able to assist in equipment rigging, setting, and assembly
  • Must be able to wire both line and low voltage to heating and cooling equipment
  • Must be able to install copper refrigerant lines and condensates to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing
  • Must be able to install sheet metal (rectangular and spiral) and flex duct systems in commercial buildings
  • Must be able to properly connect gas lines to heating equipment
  • Must be able to demonstrate and establish effective working relationships with co-workers and superiors
  • Must be able to adhere to all company, jobsite, and OSHA safety requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • EPA Certification not required, but a plus
