Job Summary
This role focuses on commercial retrofit HVAC work—upgrading and replacing existing building systems including HVAC equipment to improve energy efficiency, meet code requirements, and boost overall performance. Responsibilities include removing and replacing commercial heating and cooling equipment (furnaces, air conditioners, chillers, rooftop units), installing modern systems such as Variable Air Volume (VAV) and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) equipment and advanced building controls, running low-voltage control wiring and rough-in work, assisting with light sheet metal fabrication and installation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local codes. The technician will communicate with customers on-site, collaborate with crew members to maintain project schedules, and support division-wide safety and quality standards. EPA Universal certification and OSHA 10 are required.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience
- Commercial HVAC experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and manufacturer documentation
- Physical capability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces
- Solid troubleshooting instincts when installation challenges arise
- EPA Universal certification required
- OSHA 10 required
