Retirement Services Client Manager

Job Summary

Act as the initial point of contact for Clients, Carriers, and the Client Service Team by reviewing contracts, plan documents, and legal materials for accuracy before distribution. Coordinate annual plan testing, Form 5500 filings, and new business presentations while mentoring Retirement Analysts on data gathering. Guide and instruct carrier representatives to ensure smooth implementation of retirement plans and explain client needs regarding plan designs and recommendations. Review renewals and enrollment materials for compliance and accuracy, maintain client files in the Agency Management System, and present financial measures predicting benefit costs. Participate in prospect and renewal meetings to learn client challenges, conduct employee enrollment meetings, and resolve routine service issues. Strategize with the Client Executive Service to develop resolutions for potential E&O concerns and client dissatisfaction. Maintain a valid Life and Disability License in California and possess strong communication skills to summarize technical matters clearly.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a strong understanding of Qualified Retirement plan benefits and providers
  • 3-5 years of experience providing corporate retirement plan service while at a brokerage firm or provider
  • Bachelor degree
  • at least one recognized financial/benefits industry designation
  • FINRA Series 65 or 66
  • willingness to achieve FINRA Series 65 or 66 within 4 months of date of hire
  • AIF designation
  • willingness to achieve AIF designation within 12 months of date of hire
  • Strong financial analysis technical knowledge and understanding of various investment and group retirement plans, federal and state legislation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide non-technical explanations to technical matters, and summarize and present information in a clear, concise and accurate written and verbal format
  • Maintain a valid unrestricted Life and Disability License in California

  • Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods
